What does EMBRACING THE AGE DO!

Sometimes we can lose track of why something was started, I would like to reintegrate the reason Embracing the Aged was formed. This past week I had a widowed lady call me that heard me speak a couple of weeks ago at her church at a Saturday breakfast. She had a problem and didn’t know what to do, she had no heat, water or electricity every time her furnace kicked on everything else shut off, she was very upset she knew an electrician would be very expensive and she was on a very limited income but was cold, had to go to a neighbor to take a shower and eat and knowing the weather was going to get colder she reached out to me.



I went to work to find the help she needed from our network of local businesses and individuals that provide services. I called a local church that had helped me in the past. The first person I reached out to was very busy, he did go to her house but did not get an answer so he left, the next day I reached out to him again, the receptionist texted me that they had tried to reach out to her but no answer, said they would try again and where would I want the bill to be sent, knowing the lady didn’t have the finances I told the receptionist not to worry and thank you but I had another person I was waiting on to contact me. I was hoping for the gentlemen that helped me the first time would call, and he did. On Friday he contacted me for her information and said he would call her to see what he could do. After calling and hearing of the problem, he stated he thought it might be serious but would go and look. Saturday morning, she contacted me, within 30 minutes of him being there he had assessed the situation, took care of the minor problem and even checked her hot water heater to make sure everything was okay and best of all NO CHARGE! God is so good and faithful he knew the situation, who to send and blessed the lady that was in need. She called me thanking me for helping her, it wasn’t me, it was a combination of several people willing to do what they could for one of our local seniors in need.

This is what EMBRACING THE AGE does, we find the resources from our local businesses that have a heart for seniors. We hope and pray God blesses more individuals and business to be willing to share their time and experiences for the good of our Senior Community.
